MRS.TENER's NEwslettersNews & Announcements
Again I say, “Happy Easter!” It is always so exciting to know that Easter is not just a day. It is a liturgical season of 50 days. Easter will not be over until after we are out of school for the year. It is so sad to me that the secular world does not share in our celebration of 50 days. Tomorrow night is our final general PTO meeting of the year. WE will be electing officers for next year. Don’t worry–we have a full slate ready to go. Please join us by Zoom at 6:30 tomorrow night.
We have entered into the greatest three days of our liturgical year. The eighth grade did a beautiful reenactment of the Last Supper. They also performed a very moving performance of the Living Stations of the Cross.
The safe environment system is open. If you are planning to attend field day, you must be safe-environment trained. If you have not completed it by May 1, I cannot guarantee you will be approved. All trainees must have three reference checked. If everyone waits until the last week before field day, there is no way to get all of the references checked. This training is now required annually. The training is all online.
Tomorrow the students are invited to purple up for military children. There is no cost–just wear purple. Please remember as always: no spaghetti straps, no tank tops, no inappropriate sayings, no short shorts, no crop tops, no jeggings, no leggings, no yoga pants, no boots. If you have a doubt about what your child wishes to wear, please don’t let him/her wear it. Children may wear their shirts untucked on this day.
The safe environment system will reopen on Monday, April 11. This training is now required annually. The training is all online. The website is: https://archokc.safeenvironment.org/login/index.php
Tomorrow is class photo day. I know there has been confusion around this day. The photographer is only willing to enter the school once a semester due to Covid. I have, however, reached out to a former parent who operates a photo studio. She is willing to come do individual photos. That date will be the last week of April or the first week of May. I will have that date solidified in next week’s newsletter. Students are expected to wear the dress uniform tomorrow as a normal Thursday.
