St. Philip Neri hosted their annual Spelling Bee and in true Falcon fashion, the students demonstrated academic excellence.

The competition is designed for the school’s 1st–8th graders. Joshua Stephens, a first grader, outwitted a second grader with the winning word colorful from the 3rd-4th grade list!

Erin Elpedes, a third grader, took 1st place over fourth graders spelling remorseful.

Isaiah Yabut, a sixth grader, won first after a spell-off with his friend and fellow sixth-grader, Trevor Skinner, spelling reminisce correctly.

Seventh grade beat almost all the eighth graders in this year of competition. First place went to Kayden McDonagh, who spelled horticulture without hesitation!

The top three finishers from each combined grade level will compete at the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City on April 13th. Each local winner received a cash prize from the Catholic War Veteran, Oklahoma Memorial Post 168.
